Since Friday was an at-home day, we could pretty much set our own schedule. At one point I snuck downstairs, where Richard was "reading" (or in other words, asleep on the sofa), and sprinkled him with little pieces of paper on which I'd written "sushi" on each side. When he woke up, wondering what the heck I was doing, I told him they were subliminal messages. For some reason, he then suggested we go to the all-you-can-eat sushi place for lunch. He's so clever that way. Amusingly enough, we ran into another Benthic Creatures coworker who was there having lunch with her mother. Somehow I doubt *she* had to resort to flinging little pieces of paper to get there (Richard says I'm addicted). ******** Igor Bars (recipe originally printed in recent edition of Dork Tower, where it was spotted by the man who insisted these be served for his birthday party which we attended Friday night): Make chocolate chip cookie dough and spread that on the bottom of a big pan, then bake. Next melt an entire bag of caramels and pour that over the baked cookies, and sprinkle liberally with peanuts. Stir together a batch of Rice Krispie treats and spread that over the caramel-coated cookies, and finish it off with melted chocolate, more peanuts, sprinkles, M&M's, and anything else that contains sugar, chocolate, or preferably both. Let the entire thing cool until the Rice Krispie goo is set. Cut into chunks and serve.
