12/27/2002: Whisked away

After three days of Christmas gifting, including our stockings to each other, presents from Richard's side of the family, and then the presents from my side, the breakfast nook table was completely lost, as were most of the kitchen counters. We've been too busy, or too tired, to sort through everything and put it all away, but this morning, we couldn't put the task off any longer. There's nothing like an impending visit from relatives, no matter how friendly, to make me feel the need to clean.

The breakfast nook table has been unearthed, as have the kitchen counters! The floors are vacuumed and mopped and the bathrooms scrubbed. And as an added bonus, we gathered up all the recycling and took it down to the local recycling center - a task we have been putting off for months. There is no longer a small pile of squashed cardboard boxes and empty plastic bags on my kitchen counter (because there was no more room in the crates in the garage). It's amazing how something so insignificant as empty counters and a clean table can make me feel so happy.

Tis the season for Holidailies!
