When I started the Clueless sweater last month I told myself that I could work on it until November 1st; after that I had to stop and focus solely on a different project. Last Christmas my younger sister asked me if I would be willing to make a stocking for my niece. Would I be willing? Gee, twist my arm!
I sent her a list of pattern pictures and links, so she could decide what she liked, and she eventually settled on the Falling Snow Stocking. I didn’t get the yarn for it until recently, and I knew I wanted to make sure I had plenty of time to get it done so I wasn’t trying to ship it overnight shortly before Christmas. So I decided I’d devote November to working solely on the stocking.
This afternoon I dragged out my trusty ball winder and swift this afternoon, wound my yarn into convenient little yarn cakes, dug out the right size needles, and cast on. Five hours later, realizing that if I did not stop soon my hands were going to regret it later, this is what I had.
Silly me. I keep forgetting that stranded colorwork goes really, really fast.
Beautiful! I wish colorwork would go that fast for me. 🙂
